My work is often about finding relationships between fragments: connections between words, ideas, processes and materials. Our brains innately seek out pattern and rhythm, finding links between disparate bits of material. I am interested in the significance derived from language when it is stripped of its logical context and the instinctual, intuitive process of filling gaps between the known and unknown with the connective tissue of meaning. My new series of self portraits are strongly informed by mysticism, quantum physics, dreams, the unconscious, and exterior forces that affect perception.
